Squidoo Lenses

I have just completed my first Squidoo lens. You can find it at: http://www.squidoo.com/mixerinabox. Squidoo is a site that allows you to put up a webpage for free. They have an interesting business model. The format for the site is set-up by Squidoo, but is somewhat flexible. There are various advertising modules. While you can delete these modules the real plan is to intersperse your text modules between the ad blocks. Squidoo has a profit-sharing program in place. If someone clicks on something in one of the ad blocks you get 50% of the income from any sales produced. There are also Google ads and text link ads on the pages. The proceeds from these ads are distributed to the various publishers through a formula that Squidoo has developed. Squidoo donates 5% of all income to charities and allows lensmasters to also donate their share of any income to charity as well.

You can publish pages on most any subject. There are some SquidDon’t topics outlined in the Terms of Service. These topics are banned because Squidoo has found that they produce an inordinate amount of spam. Spam posts are a big no-no at Squidoo. They have recently decided that X-rated content is not in the best interest of the site, so that content is being purged from the system. You are allowed to promote products and services through Squidoo.

There are many people that are making a significant income from their lenses. Like anything else, it does take some work. There is an active community of users on the site. They put up their own lenses and rate other lenses. The ratings help to build lens rank. There are lists of the 100 highest ranked lenses in any category, so having a high lens rank will produce more traffic and possible income. They also have a referral program so if you refer others to Squidoo and they make money you will get a bonus.

Do you want to join in the fun and potential profits of Squidoo? If you are interested please click this sentence (my referral link is embedded).
